Google announced on Tuesday that it is expanding its experimental app, Dreambeans, to the Indian market. This move by the Mountain View-based tech giant brings the AI-powered, personalized storytelling experience to users aged 18 and older. According to Google, the app generates daily visual stories based on information drawn from various Google services—including Gmail, Calendar, Photos, Search, Gemini, and YouTube. Dreambeans is part of the Google Labs experimental program and is now available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Google Dreambeans App
In a press release, Google describes Dreambeans as an experimental app designed to help users discover information relevant to their interests, without the need to scroll through feeds or enter prompts. Dreambeans leverages data from the Google apps a user chooses to connect, curating a collection of personalized stories on a daily basis.
The company states that these stories cover a wide range of topics, such as places the user might want to explore, arts and crafts, upcoming local events, and reminders. Users can open individual stories to learn more, bookmark them for later, or share them with others. Google is also inviting user feedback to help improve the stories generated by the app.
Google states that Dreambeans leverages information from connected Google services—including Calendar, Gemini, Gmail, Photos, Search, and YouTube—to proactively surface relevant content, rather than waiting for user prompts. Additionally, the app features a tool that uses Google’s Veo video-generation model to animate images within a given story.
Starting today, Dreambeans is available in India for users aged 18 and older. The app can be downloaded on both Android and iOS devices and supports 14 languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, and Nepali.
However, Google has noted that users can select only one language at a time for any generated story.
Notably, the company launched Dreambeans this June, initially making it available to users in the United States. The service has since expanded to include all eligible U.S. users aged 18 and older. India has become the first international market where Dreambeans is available.
